Founded in the 60’s, by the much missed Colin Cooper, Climax Blues Band has always focused on its roots, a unique combination of jazz and blues. After 18 albums, the classic world-wide hit “Couldn’t Get It Right” and tours of the UK, Europe and the US, Climax Blues Band is still on the road playing the blues in a creative way that has always been synonymous with their name.
Northbound perform a modern take on traditional delta blues which includes a mix of original material and traditional blues songs. Their performances heavily feature authentic blues harp playing as well as slide guitar. Originally formed as a trio in they added upright bass in the summer of 2015 to complete their sound. They regularly play around the Midlands Area and have played many blues festivals.
Following a year of successful gigs at The George IV, fellow organiser Nick Dewhurst will be pulling together some of the outstanding musicians who played there over the last 12 months. Expect a evening of exciting mind blowing Jazz with an enjoyable sense of humour.
Regular visitors to Lichfield Arts, this fine band will make you get up and dance to the Swing music of the 30’s onwards. Master drummer Sticky brings this talented band of Chris Gumbley Saxes, Danny McCormack keyboards, Geoff Tooley guitar, Tomas Pedersen Bass plus the fabulous vocalist Linda Morris for you to enjoy and dance away the evening.
