Lichfield Arts Blues & Jazz Festival
Wednesday 18th to Sunday 22nd August 2021

We are very excited to announce that our volunteer team have been hard at work creating our 30th Lichfield Arts Blues & Jazz Festival. For Lichfield Arts, a local, independent charity organisation run mainly by volunteers, running two festivals on subsequent weekends as our first events back from lockdown is a bold statement of intent.

With the 20th FREE community festival Fuse in Beacon Park on the weekend of Friday 13th to Sunday 15th August, and then our 30th Blues & Jazz Festival a week later, we are back to what we do best…providing opportunities to artists, offering opportunities for community engagement and of course a high quality, varied programme across multiple venues.

It seems only yesterday that the idea of a Blues And Jazz festival was suggested and now 30 years later and at least 300 plus bands we still offer blues and jazz fans a varied programme of top class national musicians and our excellent regional bands to our delightful Cathedral city.

With headliners Climax Blues Band and the incredible Brass Monkeys joining us for 2021, along with Dennis Rollins, and Walsall Jazz Orchestra, we are confident that all tastes of blues and jazz will be catered for!

So come along for the whole week-end or just a day or a single concert. Simply relax and enjoy.

Our line up

Our headliners offer an exciting mix of blues and jazz right in the centre of Lichfield.

Some Kinda Wonderful

Wednesday 18th August

What better way to start off the festival than celebrating the genius of Stevie Wonder with the mesmeric vocalist, Noel McCalla and award-winning saxophonist Derek Nash.

Climax Blues Band

Friday 20th August

After celebrating 50 years of playing their unique combination of blues with a jazzy tinge and playing all the major blues festivals around the UK and Europe we had to invite them back!

Brass Monkeys

Saturday 21st August

This is an eclectic, brassy band whose influences include jazz, blues, reggae, soul and much more. This powerhouse of brass reflects a mixture of youth, talent and experience.

Dennis Rollins

Saturday 21st August

Master trombonist Dennis Rollins is reunited with The Nick Dewhurst Band with a brilliant concert for our 30th anniversary of the blues & Jazz Festival.

Thank you to all of our supporters and sponsors, our festival team and most importantly our valued customers.

Special thanks to long standing Blues & Jazz Festival supporters Jerry Sykes and Mathew Pretty.
